CRISIS RESPONSE & INTERVENTION–Responding to Tragedy

I survived the week, between working with a student in a coma due to a heroin overdose, a runaway truant and the ‘coming out’ of another student…I guess you can say I did pretty good.  Although you never know what you are going to face, as a social worker in any field, the only certainty is that when disaster strikes you will be called upon.  Below is a resource that was shared with me…the Disaster/ Distress Helpline.  An all-inclusive phone number you can call or text.  Read more below and please share with others…or comment below with any other cool resources!

Happy Friday  All!

Disaster Distress Helpline   Call 1-800-985-5990 or text “TalkWithUs” to 66746.
